Bass Guitar/Background Vocals
Music has been a huge part of my life since I was eight years old.
The very first instrument I played was the piano. Then I transitioned
to the coronet, then onto the drums, and then the bass guitar. My first
memories of music come from my father leading music at our church along
with my brother on the drums and my sister on the clarinet. I can remember
mimicking my brother’s drum beats by tapping my fingers on the pew in front
of me and keeping the rhythm of the kick drum with my foot.
Playing music, as Thicker Than Water, with three of my brothers is an awesome
blessing for which I am extremely grateful. I have had the opportunity to play
with Joe and David for quite some time because of some musical ventures we had
while we were in high school and college. We were in two bands, in particular,
where we were able to jam out with some of our closest friends. Maybe you have
heard of RFTO and our hits that never became hits like “Matchbox” and “Mirror”.
No? Or its possible you have heard of our dinner music band called The Wilson Seven.
You mean you weren’t aware of a singer-less group which included drums, bass, guitar,
piano, saxophone, and a trumpet? Do the math and you will see that this group of seven
was actually made up of six.
Even though TTW is a huge blessing and a lot of fun, I have to keep in mind that
I am a husband/teacher/coach right along with being a musician. The biggest blessing in my
life is my lovely wife of three years. We enjoy spending time together whether it’s playing
softball or watching baseball in the Spring, and/or anything “ Michigan ”. Amie is with me all
the way in my interests, even on the road to TTW’s gigs. My “grown-up” job is being a
history/theology teacher at a Catholic high school in Flint , MI , where I also coach baseball in the spring.
Everything God has for me right now in my life is a blessing and I am extremely grateful. Along with that,
I am eager to see what he has in store for TTW.
